Meet the team behind the Manx Educational Foundation.


David Butterworth

Since founding Skanko Business Systems as Managing Director in 1985, David Butterworth has helped to drive and shape the way in which businesses on the Isle of Man engage with IT both locally and in an international capacity.

A commercially aware and well respected and community figure, his guiding principles of maintaining a strong client focus whilst remaining committed to staff training and development have earned him a reputation as one of the industry’s foremost pioneering and enterprising businessmen.

Ron Berry


As part of a long career in Marketing Communications, Ron is now the Managing Director of Isle of Man based licensed commercial radio station 3FM. The company is also the Island’s leading multimedia business and alongside the radio station, 3FM specialises in social media, and multi-platform content delivery.

Prior to this, Ron spent a number of years working for the Isle of Man Government within the Department of Economic Development advising on and managing the Island’s ebusiness inward investment strategy.

Jackie Fisher

Jax has worked part time for the Department of Education & Children for the past 18 years as a “Detatched Youth Worker.” The role is non-judgemental and involves working with young people in their territory on the streets, in parks and cafes etc. Liason between young people and the community involving multi-agency work, dealing with challenging behaviours, resolving issues and helping develop positive young adults.

Jax also worked alongside the careers service based at the Isle of Man Job Centre, helping support and motivate young people through unemployment and their journey from full time education to employment.

She enjoys sports including mountain biking and golf and will be Lady Captain for Castletown in 2017.
